Get started with accessibility features on Apple devices

Built-in accessibility features on your Beats can improve your listening experience, whether you’re listening to your favorite music or trying to hear a conversation in a crowded room.

The Hearing Devices screen in Control Center. From top to bottom, it includes the Headphone Level in decibels, Headphone Accommodations, Background Sounds, and Live Listen for the connected Powerbeats Pro 2.

Here are just a few ways you can get started:

    Hear across the room

Live Listen uses your iPhone or iPad as a microphone that sends the sound straight to your Beats. This works even from across the room, so Live Listen can help you listen to a lecture from the back row of the classroom, or just make it easier to hear a conversation in a crowded room. See Use Live Listen with Beats and iPhone or iPad.

    Play background sounds

Play calming background sounds to help you relax or focus. You can choose from a list of sounds, like Rain or Ocean, and adjust the volume. See Play background sounds on Beats.

    Adjust alert tones

Your Beats play different alert tones when connecting to (or disconnecting from) a device, when the battery is low, when switching between noise cancellation and transparency (if available), and so on. See Adjust the volume of audio cues for Beats.

    Change accessibility settings

After you set up your Beats, you can adjust accessibility settings.

Choose any of the following features:

    • Headphone Accommodations

    • Mono Audio

    • Background Sounds

    • Live Listen

    • Alert Tone Volume
