https://docs.github.com/en/code-security/reference/supply-chain-security/supported-ecosystems-and-repositories#pre-commit says: Dependabot can update additional_dependencies. But it does not explain how to constraint these updates in dependabot.yml e.g. to prevent updating to certain version numbers.

I cannot use the @dependabot commands to ignore certain versions because this feature is intransparent: I cannot see at a single place which packages and versions are ignored, so my company decided to use dependabot.yml as the only way to restrict Dependabot version updates.

I need a way to restrict pre-commit additional_dependencies version updates.

@SamirYMeshram Thank you for your reply. Your suggestion sadly only works for top level dependencies in a pre-commit-config file, but not for additional_dependencies. They are updated automatically but there is no way to constraint these updates.
