Mechanism
Our nervous system primarily responds to rhythms. Bapum uses the power of tactile (touch-based) entrainment, meaning it sends a direct signal to your nervous system through the gentle physical pulse felt on your skin that it is time to slow down. This is the process of co-regulation, during which your body is able to adopt an external, stable physical pulse and align its own functioning with it.
Approach
While most apps tax your attention and mind, Bapum communicates directly with your body. You don't need to learn new techniques, or actively concentrate, just feeling the rhythm is enough. This elevates Bapum to the “meta” level of mental well-being apps. It means you don't receive a new task but a tool that works in the background, directly affecting the core settings of your nervous system to take the weight off your mind.
