I’ve used it for 5 days and lost fat each day without being super hungry. (Except for 1 day where I went 200cals below target.) Absolutely brilliant for tracking food calories. For the initial TDEE calculation, I told it I’m “lightly active” as I do 10k steps a day. I don’t add anything to the Exercises section because it adds calories to your daily target. I don’t add the steps because they’re already taken into account by my “lightly active” selection for the TDEE and I don’t add the strength workouts I do 3x30-min a week. Also, I put my details in other TDEE calculators and they gave me 300 less calories per day than MFP. MFP gave me 1800 per day. I do the 1800 because I don’t get hungry that way. I tried 1600cals one day and I was STARVING. Unsustainable. Another thing: as a goal, I put the absolute minimum of 0.5lbs per week. I’ve lost 1.4lbs of fat in the first 5 days. I eat whole foods and I mostly have veg instead of grains. Eg thin sliced fried white cabbage and onion instead of spaghetti, and beansprouts instead of noodles. I eat around 120g protein per day too. Eating fat is fine - I just make sure it fits in calories for the day. Also planning your meals at the start of the day and entering estimates for the amounts in MFP is a good way to make sure you don’t go over your calories. Anyway, I’m really impressed with my results and will be subscribing past the free period.

I have to confess I have never been interested in counting calories and focusing on loosing weight - I prefer to focus on fitness but on the recommendation of a fitness Instructure I thought I would try it out of interest. It's really easy to use and many of the foods are already in, you just type and a list appears. It also gives the option to log your own recipes - really handy as I do a lot of home cooking. It calculates the required calories for your needs from the info you give it including your goal. I really like the nutrition pie chart as I hadn't realised how far out my balance was - it's great to see the percentages of protein, carbohydrates and fat and I have adjusted my diet to improve this. It's a bit early to say if I have lost weight but the app has defiantly improved the balance in my diet and how much water I drink! Really impressed! So that was a few years ago and I lost 3stone using the app. Took 2 years but it felt healthy. Since then life took over and the weight crept back on (not all of it) so a month ago I jumped back on the app and I had forgotten how great it was. Already I am eating more consciously and really thinking about what I put inside my body. I feel better already and I know the way it’s gonna come off the improvements to the app since I last used it a really great making it even easier to log food. Still after many years, I would recommend this app no question.

It used to be much better

I use this daily, and I generally like the features and that it syncs with iPhone health and my fitness pal easily. It doesn’t work so well on the treadmill as my Gym’s internet connection is a bit iffy, but I can input the details after. What I really really hate about the recent changes to it is that it defaults to “community” and to sharing your updates “with friends”. You don’t seem to be able to change the settings so that it doesn’t do this. So it’s a pain to have to change this setting every time. I absolutely couldn’t care less about anyone else’s exercise and I have zero interest in seeing anything about it. Likewise, my exercise is private - I consider this my sensitive personal data - and I just do not want anyone else seeing anything about my exercise. When the app first changed I accidentally logged some exercise to “share with friends” because it defaults to that. It doesn’t allow you to go back in and change it - so although I don’t have any friends on it (and never will) I’m cross that it defaulted to sharing something I consider private. I won’t stop using it as I do like to track my exercise and those bits of the app work well. I just wish it would allow you to automatically default to not sharing anything. I’m not interested in exercise social media - that’s not what I want it for.

I’ve been using this app for 15 months. When I started my Mounjaro journey I knew I had to keep track of everything. I have recorded every meal for 440 days without a break. I record my weight weekly. It has been such a help having so much information at my fingertips. It’s all shared with my PT and dietician who monitor everything which goes in my mouth. It is so helpful and now as I find the weight harder to lose, I am fact-checking new foods before they go in my mouth - just in case! The nutrition figures have to be taken with a pinch of salt as they are only as reliable as the person who entered the food item originally, but if it’s wildly out I correct it, for others. I love it.My only wish is that it spoke to my fitness app and took note of calories burnt without me having to enter exercise programmes separately which I confess I don’t do. I just use another app to get the info required - which is also shared with PT. I’ve now lost 10 stone btw and MyFitnessPal has helped me immensely. I suspect I’ll be a user for a long time to come maybe forever, as even when I reach my target I’ll keep monitoring - mainly because it is so EASY. Thank you.
