A Novel Knowledge Network Framework for Financial News Navigation
[chapter]
2014
Lecture Notes in Computer Science
Nowadays, various financial news retrieval platforms are provided to help users, especially for financial professionals and hobbyists to make right decisions. In those platforms, users usually get information by searching the relevant news via keywords or clicking the recommended news with the similar topic in the clicked web page. However, such ways to obtain financial information cannot effectively meet users' further needs. They are eager to obtain the relevant news with different domains in

... cing and bioinformatics analyses of the V4 region in microbial 16S rRNA genes. IgAN patients and healthy subjects did not differ significantly in α‑diversity indices (Chao1 and Shannon index) or phylum composition. At the genus level, however, Granulicatella was significantly less abundant in healthy individuals than in IgAN patients, while Prevotella and Veillonella were significantly more abundant in the healthy subjects than in IgAN patients (P<0.05 and P<0.01, respectively). Correlation analysis between biochemical indicators and operational taxonomic units (OTUs) revealed that the glomerular filtration rate was positively correlated with OTU86 and OTU287 at P<0.05, positively correlated with OTU165 at P<0.001, and negatively correlated with OTU455 at P<0.05. The serum creatinine index was negatively correlated with OTU287 at P<0.05 and negatively correlated with OTU165 at P<0.001. The pathological changes were positively correlated with OTU255 at P<0.05, OTU200 at P<0.01, and OTU455 and OTU75 at P<0.001, and negatively correlated with OTU86, OTU287, and OTU788 at P<0.05 and with OTU165 at P<0.01. The differences between Chinese IgAN patients and healthy subjects in terms of OTUs and biochemical indicators were analyzed and a mathematical model to facilitate the clinical diagnosis of IgAN was established.
An Intelligent Search Platform for Business News
[chapter]
2014
Lecture Notes in Computer Science
Living in a data driven world, the business news is very crucial for making economic decisions. To help decision makers obtain related business news quickly, two kinds of providers for business news, i.e., the search engine (e.g., Google News) and business portals (e.g., Reuters), are widely used. Though the keyword-based search engine is simple and easy to use, it has relatively low precision of the returned results and cannot directly provide news of particular business domains such as

... y and real estate. In contrary, the portals can provide a variety of news of specific business domains, but it is difficult for users to browse since the front page looks so bloated and has many irrelevant ads. To solve the above problems, in this paper we propose and implement a platform named Intelligent Search Platform for Business News (ISPBN). This new platform not only combines the advantages of both search engine and portals, but also provides further analysis to discover the hidden relationships of different business news. To be specific, we incorporate automatic classification technology into the search platform to organize and retrieve business news in different domains. Furthermore, to fast guide users finding diversified and useful news, we construct a dynamic knowledge network graph to display the hidden relationships among news. Finally, we show the performance of our subsystems and present the final user interface of the proposed search platform.

Geometric synthesis method of compliant mechanism based on similarity transformation of pole maps
2021
Mechanical Sciences
Abstract. This paper presents a geometric synthesis method for compliant mechanisms based on similarity transformation of pole maps. Motion generation is a typical and common mechanism synthesis task, so this study takes it as the design requirement to expound the proposed method. Most of the current research work relies on numerical solution of the nonlinear Bernoulli–Euler beam model, numerical simulations or physical experiments to study the synthesis method of compliant mechanisms. There is

... a lack of simpler and more efficient methods to achieve motion generation of compliant mechanisms with various topologies. This study is based on pole map which is a geometric tool to describe the motion of rigid-body mechanisms. In this paper, we first demonstrate the feasibility of applying the similarity transformation of pole map to compliant mechanisms. It is proved that the pole map of compliant mechanisms has the same characteristic as rigid-body mechanisms during similarity transformation. Then we present the procedure of synthesis method in detail and expound the establishment method of function module which can avoid the functional defects of the final designed mechanism. At last, we take the compliant geared linkages and compliant four-bar linkage as examples to illustrate the novel synthesis approach. The result is an applicable and effective synthesis method for motion generation of compliant mechanisms.
Salivary microbiota analysis of patients with membranous nephropathy
2022
Molecular Medicine Reports
The oral microbiota are closely related to human health. Nonetheless, to the best of our knowledge, their relationship with membranous nephropathy (MN) remains unstudied. The saliva microbiota collected from 22 patients with MN and 15 healthy controls were analyzed by next‑generation sequencing, and bioinformatics analysis of the 16S ribosomal RNA gene was subsequently carried out. The Chao1 and Shannon indices in patients with MN were higher than those in healthy controls. Analysis of

... ies revealed that the oral microbiota in the patient group were significantly different from those in the healthy controls. At the genus level, the abundance of Alloprevotella, Granulicatella, Prevotella, Streptococcus and Prevotella_7 was markedly higher in patients with MN than in healthy controls. Six operational taxonomic units (OTUs; OTU5, OTU28, OTU9, OTU15, OTU33 and OTU38) were found to be markedly correlated with the clinical factors creatinine, proteinuria in 24 h, estimated glomerular filtration rate and systolic blood pressure. A total of 28 Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathways were obtained from the significant OTUs. The oral microbiota of patients with MN were investigated and it was found that OTU5, OTU28, OTU9, OTU15, OTU33 and OTU38 may be used as biomarkers. The present findings may assist in the diagnosis of patients with MN.

... he 3 patients age was 20, 41, and 43 years. Indications, technique, complications and outcomes are reported below. Results. Three patients were undergone for transversely re-tubularized ileal segment urinary reconstruction. All of them were evaluated from 5 to 12 months postoperatively. All patients' postoperative visits to our outpatient gynecological clinic about 3, 6 and 12 months respectively after Monti ileovesicostomy operation revealed no dehiscence, necrosis, stenosis or perforation of the tube. All performed catheterization through the conduit without difficulty. Conclusion. The Monti ileovesicostomy is a new technique for creation of a continent catheterizable stoma. Based on our data, Monti procedure seems to be a valuable technique in patients with complicated urethral defect who cannot be managed with routine urethroplastic techniques. This reconstruction provides another option for a diversion technique in patients with irreparable urethral damage. However, evaluation whether it can be extensively developed still need more investigations with larger number of patients by long-term follow up.
